Chuchito Perez is one of the new breed of upscale Mexican gastropubs offering an interesting fusion of Mexican, Asian and European cuisine to accompany a full range of cocktails and beers.
Partners & Brothers specializes in making great gourmet burgers, but they have a menu full of popular finger foods, salads, etc. Now in 4 locations.
By the way, these burgers are the same burgers you’d get at the fancy Carnal steakhouse, but the cost is about 40% less. So, unless you’re trying to impress someone by valet parking your Ferrari, best to save your burger urge for Juicy Lucy, the burger joint.
Capital Grille’s franchise location in Mexico City offers highest-quality steaks and seafood, albeit with a hefty price-tag. It’s “the” place in CDMX to entertain clients.
We decided to give the burger at Lobo Café a chance to earn a spot on our top burgers list in Buenos Aires. And guess what. The burger was one of the most unique and tasty burgers we’ve encountered.
NOLA’s fried-chicken sandwich is crispy, crunchy, creative goodness on a bun. Cajun fried chicken comes to Buenos Aires.
The pernil sandwich at the Caracas Bar is very, very good. If the dance floor is full of sexy latinas shakin’ it while you’re eatin’ that sandwich that’s just the icing on the cake.
We don’t normally like “old-school”. But the Lomito Porteño sandwich at La Rambla in Recoleta is about as old-school at it gets. Old-school delicious!
A pastrami sandwich that rivals the deli classic at Katz’s in New York City? Yep. It’s that good!
Rating: Stars . Restaurant Type: Gastropub . Eclectic . Cost: . Antares is a microbrewery-style brewpub with multiple locations in Buenos Aires, and Argentina. Menu has a wide variety of reasonably priced food.
Ojo de Agua mphasizes fresh ingredients, offering a variety of traditional Mexican breakfasts. Excellent chilaquiles including an egg. Good prices too.
Gourmet market with restaurant serving unique breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, finger foods, entrees, pastries and desserts, all at reasonable prices. Unique gourmet menu in a casual setting. Highly recommended any time of the day.
A lip-smacking, mouth-watering delicious, sandwich. Hands down, our favorite in all of Mexico City.
Most sandwiches sold in downtown Buenos Aires are pre-made, wrapped in paper, and sitting on a rack. El Nacional doesn’t make it until you order it! Fresh ingredients, including the bread baked daily in their own bakery, mean the quality of the sandwich is a cut above everything else downtown.
One of the hottest spots in BA for a drink and we’d heard they serve a darn good burger. We heard wrong. Overcooked despite our request for “jugoso”.
Pérez-H is one of the many counter-service burger joints in Buenos Aires, now with locations downtown, in San Telmo, Palermo Hollywood and Quilmes. Open in Palermo Hollywood and Quilmes until 1 am Sun through Thursday, and until 3 am on Fri and Sat nights. Very juicy burgers with crisp, hot French fries at rock-bottom prices. Pérez-H is our most highly rated restaurant in the fast-casual category.
The Burger Company has the personality of a chain fast-food restaurant with a bit more class and much better burgers. Ollie O prefers this less “Bohemian” ambiance to the disarray at nearby Burger Joint.
American classics and burgers. The burger was barely beyond average. Service was less than average.
Best Burger in town. Hands down. It’s expensive, but if you’ve got a craving for a really good burger, this is it.
If you’re way out in Belgrano, Palermo Hollywood or Las Cañitas and don’t want to make take the long ride down to the Hard Rock then Mad Dog is the next best thing … possibly even better. Slightly better than average burgers. Really good fries and onion rings
This is sort of a build your own burger format. You can select the weight of the patty and the toppings and they’ll flip up and serve ’em up the way you want them. They are quite reasonably priced.
Bar that has a varied menu including burgers. We went to sample the burger for our Burger Joint Face-off. It was too lean and overcooked. Barely average.
Mi Barrio Burger Bar/Restaurant. Small, clean and modern. Order burger with assortment of condiments from large chalkboard. One of the few options in Recoleta for a good cheeseburger.
Best burger in Palermo Soho but nowhere close to being the best in the city despite lots of press that says so. Fries were limp and greasy. Clearly overrated. Popular with students and pot-smoking musicians due to counter-culture decor and atmosphere. Personally … I wasn’t impressed.
The 50’s diner decor in this restaurant is a bit cliche but this genre seems to be all the rage in Latin America. Breakfast is a bit lacking but at least they have eggs. The burgers are among the best in town. You can even have a burger topped with chili.
Burgers only. Dine-in or take-out. Order at the counter, build your burger, pick-it up at the counter. Small dining area as counters. Burgers were juicy and good. Our fave spot downtown for a burger.
The Burgers at Brooklyn (which is more bar than restaurant) were slightly better than average. The “cheddar” is really an oozing sauce, not really cheese. This restaurant barely rates mentioning. There are better choices for burgers in the neighborhood.
One of the best burgers in the city. They have great sandwiches, soups and falafel too. Eat on stool at a counter. No tables. But I’d stand on my head for one of these burgers.
At first glance this place looks like one of those salad-centric, sandwiches with arugula on multi-grain bread kind of places. Not somewhere you’d go for a burger. But truth is they produce a pretty good burger. As usual, the meat was not quite juicy enough and the grind was a little too fine making it a little “chewy”. But seasoning was good.
Rating: Stars . Restaurant Type: Casual Dining . Sandwiches-Salads . Cost: . The cheeseburger at Kansas is barely better than average and pretty pricey too. Service could have been better as well.
A unique restaurant menu that’s a mix of New York delicatessen and Jewish and Eastern European classics. This is one of Ollie’s O’s favorite lunch spots. The problem is deciding whether to have the pastrami on pumpernickel or the lox on a bagel sandwich. Why not have both?
If you order the Gran Pilón on pan amasado you’ll get not one, but two fairly good sized cheeseburger that are juicy with exotic toppings. If you have an appetite like a bird you better bring a friend.
Burgers and Beer. This place pays homage to the alleged inventor of the burger, Uncle Fletch. Outstanding and unique burgers. And great craft beers on tap. Winner of our 2015 Best Burger Joint in Santiago face-off.
Tables upstairs. Cooks serving up burgers and hot dogs to customers sitting at the counter. Reminiscent of the classic American Diner. I’d heard the burger was something special. Not really. Barely average. Fries from a bag. At least they were hot.
